Bison Bushcraft Guide Shirt
Working towards our ethical policy of supplying kit that is sourced closer to home we are proud to offer the Bison Bushcraft Guide Shirt as a direct replacement for the Swanndri ranger shirts that are now unavailable. We have these shirts made to our own design here in The UK from 100% British wool. They are designed to be equally at home when worn as part of your layering system when in the wilderness or as an everyday garment for around town or home.

These shirts have a specifically designed colour scheme and fabric finish that blends in with nature without looking overtly camouflage or military when out of the woods. We have chosen a “granddad“ style collar for comfort and a proper sewn hem on the bottom of the shirt allowing it to be worn outside or comfortably tucked inside your trousers. The shoulder yoke is made in two layers of material for wear and weather resistance. Each shirt has one chest pocket with the bison Bushcraft logo on it.
Just a note to say thanks for the guide shirts - thoroughly field-tested! I'm really impressed and over the moon that top quality clothing made from nationally sourced materials is still available - I'll never buy a Swannie again!!

Bison Bush Shirt
The Bush Shirt is made from the finest Islay Tweed and lined with luxurious cotton moleskin. It features a hood (moleskin lined), two breast pockets, a hand warmer pocket (moleskin lined), a drawstring hem, and lace up neck placket with an antler button/tab top fastening.
We have found this to be a perfect top to use as an outer layer/coat or as a jumper in colder weather with its over head/pullover design. The hood adds to the warmth where needed preventing heat loss through the top of your head. The raglan sleeve cut makes for a comfortable and flexible shape to the Bush Shirt and the draw cord hem helps to keep out draughts.
The Lowland tweed has great weather turning attributes and the colours woven into the pattern give you a subdued natural appearance allowing you to blend into your natural surroundings without the use of military style camouflage. This truly is a warm, flexible and comfortable wilderness jacket.

Bison Zipped Bush Shirt
This Jacket is made up with our own exclusive Islay tweed and lined throughout with Luxurious cotton moleskin. The full (brass) zip front with external storm flap makes this a very flexible garment and truly unisex. The storm flap, pockets and cuffs are all fastened with the best quality brass press studs. The bottom of the jacket is cut straight at the front and longer at the back and incorporates an elastic adjustable draw-cord.
The hood is large enough to keep out the weather without being intrusive and has a drawstring to tighten it down if necessary. There are four pockets to the front, two of which are moleskin lined hand-warmer pockets and two press stud fastened breast pockets one with our logo on the pocket flap.
We've spared no expense on bringing you a top quality garment made with the best fabrics and fittings we can find whilst doing our best to keep each jacket at a realistic price. Each garment is hand made here in England with British materials.

I received the zipped bush shirt. It is outstanding! The tweed is exceptionally nice and I really like the material in the lining.
It's a great design, too. Everything is in exactly the right place.

Bison Bushcraft Moleskin Trousers
The latest offering in our expanding range of clothing is our moleskin trousers. Moleskin cotton fabric has been a long standing material for outdoorsman’s trousers owing to it’s toughness and comfort.
We’ve made our trousers with this fabric but cut them in a more useful combat style. There is a map style pocket on the left thigh, a combination knife and mobile phone pocket on the right side, two rear pockets and two hand warmer pockets. All the pockets that have flap closures have NATO slotted button closure as does the waist closure. There are belts loops around the waist. The knees have a layer ballistic nylon (anti slash material) to stop undue wear and protect you from brambles etc. There is an elastic drawcord at the hem with a cord lock should you wish to tighten the trousers against your boots. As per our usual policy of supporting our economy and using natural fibres where possible, these trousers are made here in The UK from locally sourced materials.
Available in regular leg length and even waist sizes from 30” to 40” only.

Just a quick note to say that I've failed to break these despite almost daily use through the winter, regular soakings, routinely grossly overloading cargo pockets, etc. More practical in most respects than the much pricier Finnish stalking gear I relied on last time the Arctic came visiting, and a lot more comfortable to live in.
Probably due a wash come Spring though.

Made in the UK from English waxed cotton. The wax coating creates a wind and waterproof barrier from the elements which is easily maintained by using reproofing wax. The splash-proof zips (also made in the UK) eliminate the need for storm flaps thus simplifying the jacket whilst not compromising on performance.
The jacket has a roomy design so that in winter you can fit warm layers underneath and in summer the air will circulate. The raglan shoulders and elongated arms allow movement. The jacket has two large pockets, a waist drawcord, velcro adjusters at the sleeves, a large hood and a taffeta slippery back with side zip for ventilation and to help when taking the jacket on and off.

Bison Woodland Boot
Designed by us for those who'd like a tough boot that is equally at home in our woodlands or out on the African plains. The boots are individually hand made to order. The leather uppers are lined with pigskin and employ our speed lace system. There are shock absorbing heavy duty rubber midsoles for comfort and flexibility, a sewn in tongue to keep the grit out and a proven (renewable) tyre tread or vibram commando sole. Bison Bushcraft Boots
After years of searching for the perfect lightweight boot, we've decided to make our own.
Although simple looking these boots are packed full of design features that make them the perfect footwear for stalking and mooching through the woods during summer.
They are hand made in England for us, and made foot shaped rather than modern shoe shaped. The tongues are sewn in to prevent the ingress of grit and stones. There is no man made lining, it's all leather, therefore the odour problems associated with synthetic liners should not occur.
We've chosen a very flexible flat tyre tread sole unit backed with a thin layer of high density foam that allows you to feel the ground whilst being protected from it. Of course the soles are replaceable, so there's plenty of life in these boots.
They are flexible enough to pack up flat like sandals, so carrying them as spare footwear is possible.

Sage or Brown Woollen Socks
These socks have become our favourites. They are as close as you can get to 100% wool and still retaining wear resistance. The 90% wool part of the blend is pure British wool and the 10% nylon makes them last a long time. I would put the weight of these down as medium weight making them perfect for everyday wear with boots.
